Report ABN AMRO: Retailer needs to look at stock and performance in a different way

02 October 2014

Consumers desire from retailers that their stock is well organised. They also desire that a product purchased online is delivered at the time and location of their choice. Most retailers set up their organisation and processes in a time when online shopping did not exist yet. One of the consequences of this, is that products that are returned are often not part the stock for a long period.
To develop cross channel strategy retailers need to look at stock and performance in a different way. Working with one single integrated stock seems the best solution. This is one of the conclusions of ABN AMRO in their report about the commercial importance of logistics in retail.
