NL: Compliance EU rules chemical substances unsatisfactory

22 December 2014

The compliance with the European rules for chemical substances is not good enough yet. The registration of chemical substances is well arranged, but the information about risks and applications in the supply chain is often neglected. In 2013 the cooperating inspectorates of the Netherlands inspected nearly 900 companies on compliance with both the REACH and CLP Regulation. The inspectorates audited producers, importers, merchants and professional users of substances, mixtures and articles. The main obligations are the registration, information requirements, prohibitions and limitations of use, and working with dangerous substances in a safe way (News Item NVWA, 18 December 2014).
