Dutch working population follows little education and training

01 March 2016

Four out of five employees in the Netherlands have not obtained a single recognised certificate in the past three years, nor participated in relevant education or training. Less than a third has had education in the past three years that leads to greater opportunities on the job market inside or outside the current discipline. This is shown by research of Intelligence Group (IG).
Those who follow training, primarily choose to gather additional knowledge and/or skills that make them more valuable for their current jobs. Education focused on knowledge and skills that offers greater opportunities outside their current discipline is a lot less popular (News Item IG, 3 February 2016).
