Dutch consumers want less quality marks

23 December 2014

70% of the Dutch consumers believes that there are too many quality marks. Two years ago the percentage was 42%. This is one of the conclusions of a survey performed by Motivaction. The survey was commissioned by Dutch organisation Milieu Centraal.
The amount of quality marks has been growing for years. Consumers do not know which quality marks they can trust. Which quality mark guarantees that the product you are buying is sustainable? Of the thirteen quality marks for eggs presented to the consumers, only one was satisfactory: the ‘better life’ quality mark (Beter Leven-keurmerk) from the animal protection organisation (Press Release Milieu Centraal, 27 November 2014).
