Flexible packaging: aluminium and plastic

28 April 2014

The European Aluminium Foil Association EAFA published their insights on the market in an extensive press release. Output is expected to grow in 2014 after a stagnant year 2013. Total production in 2013 was 842,700 tonnes, including a decline in the demand for thicker gauges and a moderate growth of thinner gauges, used largely for flexible packaging and household foils. Thicker gauges are mainly used for semi-rigid containers and technical applications.
Flexible plastic packaging is addressed in the online NVC E-Workshop Flexible Plastic Packaging. This e-workshop covers i.a. the functionalities, types of material, processing technologies and applications.
