European Education and Training Monitor 2014

02 December 2014

The EU Directorate-General of Education and Culture (DG EAC) has published their EU Education and Training Monitor 2014. The Monitor is an analytical contribution to the implementation of the strategic framework for European cooperation in education and training (ET 2020). High-quality vocational education and training (VET) is said to be key to lowering unemployment.
Evidence shows that within the group of graduates from upper secondary education, graduates from VET programmes have better employment prospects. Positive effects on both employability and skills are found to be particularly strong in countries with well-developed traditions of VET and work-based learning.
