Euromonitor: Packaging industry in the Netherlands

According to a new Euromonitor report, there was strong innovation in the Netherlands within premium packaging with players increasingly seeking to not only offer an attractive appearance but also to ensure higher product quality. While smaller pack sizes are seeing strong growth, many Dutch consumers remain strongly focused on value. Bulk packs and multipacks benefit from this.
Pouches are continuing to see a good performance in many areas, benefiting from offering low-cost and lightweight packaging. With ongoing improvements in printing technology, pouches also offer an increasingly attractive on-shelf appearance, while the use of resealable closures are also attracting many consumers.
