EU project results recycled food grade PET published

20 November 2014

The European project SuperCleanQ has successfully achieved its objectives to develop quality control and quality assurance tools and procedures for plastics recycling processing targeted at food contact applications.
One of the main successes is the development of a CEN Technical Specification for recycled, food grade PET, due to be published in early 2015. This will provide governing bodies, regulators and industry with the capability to determine the purity of such products in a cost-effective and accurate manner. The project results will assist in the development of new recycling processes and provide quality assurance for food contact applications (Press Release SuperCleanQ, October 2014).
