EU launches Platform on Food Losses and Food Waste

13 May 2016

In order to support achievement of its target on food waste, the Commission will establish a Platform dedicated to food waste prevention, bringing together all relevant actors: national administrations in the EU-28 and EFTA countries, EU bodies, international organisations and actors in the food value chain including consumer and other non-governmental organisations.
The EU Platform on Food Losses and Food Waste (FLW), established as part of the action plan to promote Circular Economy, aims to support all actors in: defining measures needed to prevent food waste; sharing best practice; and evaluating progress made over time (Health and Food Safety e-News, 28 April 2016).
