Denmark advises on how to limit phthalates of concern

06 June 2014

The Danish guidance targets those companies who market products for businesses or consumers. It primarily aims to help industry and retailers to phase out the four phthalates (DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP), which are currently on the REACH Authorisation List before the national ban takes effect in 2015.
It helps Danish importers and foreign exporters to identify whether there are phthalates of concern in the articles they are buying or selling. It also informs companies about the requirements they must meet if they wish to market these articles, how to engage in dialogue with their suppliers and how to start assessing whether these chemicals can be replaced (ECHA Newsletter, April 2014).
