Amsterdam Metallized Products Case Study - Metallic appearance utilised for toothpaste packaging

Amsterdam Metallized Products has researched the application of metal effects to packaging in the toothpaste sector. By conducting this research the company aims to increase the knowledge of packaging in the personal care industry. The research was conducted at the three main drugstores in The Netherlands and included a total of 30 different brands. The main conclusions of the research are that more than 50% of the brands apply a metallic appeal to their packaging; toothpaste sold with a packaging applied with a metallic effect is sold at a higher price and toothpaste sold with secondary packaging is 88% more expensive (News Item Amsterdam Metallized Products, 16 September 2014).
