NL industry works hard to comply with new labelling law

28 January 2015

Minister Schippers has informed the Dutch House of Representatives (Tweede Kamer) about the current situation regarding the introduction of the new requirements set by Regulation (EU) no. 1169/2011 (Food Information to Consumers). The minister writes that she has observed that the industry has started to work according to the new requirements. It has also been observed that there are already adapted labels in circulation, even though there are still questions that will need to be answered. The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) will take this into account when inspecting companies for compliance with this new regulation (Scherp in Waar&Wet, 13 January 2015).
