New Regulation for transport by rail available on OTIF website

28 January 2015

The Regulations concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID) are updated every two years. The latest version is in effect since 1 January 2015. The 2015 text of the RID regulations have been made available online by OTIF. Changes include Classification of packagings, discarded, empty, uncleaned, and Special packing provisions for radioactive material.
RID regulates the international carriage of dangerous goods by rail across Europe and in some other countries in the Middle East and North Africa; within the EU it also applies to domestic transport. OTIF’s web page also includes the first corrigendum to the text (HCB weekly newsletter, 18 December 2014).
