The future of work: unique presentation in CPB annual meeting
How will work develop in the future? This question was the focus of a unique lecture (7.24 MB) given by Prof. David Autor (MIT, USA) at the annual meeting of the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB) on 23 September 2021. Prof. Autor showed which jobs have disappeared over the past century, which have remained and which new jobs have emerged. He linked historical data to functions mentioned in patent applications and thus also managed looked into the future, so to say. Two important aspects of work changes are 'augmentation' and 'automation'. In the first case the work deepens, in the second case the work disappears (or rather, a machine takes over completely and usually does it better).
Among other reports, we will discuss this study together with NVC member companies on 25 November 2021 in the Life Long Learning working group of the Packaging in the Year 2080 conference.

How do we keep enough qualified personnel?
As many as 7 in 10 companies in the Netherlands are confident about their growth prospects for 2022. However, they expect that it will be difficult to find qualified personnel and even more to retain current employees. This is evident from the “Salary Guide 2022” by recruitment agency Robert Half (in Dutch), an annual survey of salaries, trends and changes in the labour market. You can access the guide after filling in your details (in Dutch).

Effectively transitioning to hybrid working
The pandemic has fundamentally changed the expectations that employees have about their work. In a white paper "Hybrid working is the new normal: how are you preparing your company for the changes ahead?" Effectory describes how to effectively transform working conditions towards hybrid working. You can download the whitepaper after filling in your details.

In addition, the model responds to trends that influence talent development, such as digital transformation, data analysis, availability of information and partnerships between talent development and the business.
