How does packaging influence consumer behavior?

Researchers at the Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA) in Brazil analysed the academic literature focusing on how product packaging influences consumer behavior. They examined the scope of academic production using a broader view. To accomplish this, they analyzed articles, published in the Web of Science database.
Most of the articles can be found in the database categories of Business & Economics and Food Science & Technology, yet the amount of research is growing and expanding into areas such as chemistry, nutrition, engineering, and more recently, environmental studies, behavioral science, and public policy.
