Global modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) market to 2020

Modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) is the replacement of air with a single gas or a mixture of gases, wherein the proportion of each component is fixed, when the mixture is introduced in the pack. According to a new report by MarketsandMarkets (M&M), the global MAP market is projected to reach $13.78 Billion by 2020, at a CAGR of 4.3%.
In 2015, North America is estimated to be the largest market. Asia-Pacific is projected to be the fastest-growing market during the period under consideration. This market is also driven by rising income levels, changing lifestyles, and growing demand for convenience and ready-to-eat foods in the emerging economies (Press Release M&M, 2 September 2015).
