Global market tracking, tracing and authenticating products

01 December 2015

According to a new report by Smithers Pira, the global market for anti-counterfeiting, brand protection and security packaging technology is forecast to grow during the period 2015-20 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.3% to $4.2 billion. Increasing counterfeiting practices and growing concern about the impact of counterfeiting on safety-critical products, along with the growing awareness for anti-counterfeit technologies are largely driving market growth.
The prevalence of smartphones and falling costs of RFID functionality is set to democratise product verification. A new generation of integrated solutions will enable brands to simultaneously track, trace and authenticate products.
