Report offers insight into Americans' changing eating habits

A new report by Acosta explores changes in U.S. consumers’ eating habits over the years - from creating “hybrid homemade meals” to the rise of snacking - and provides guidance on how the food industry can best respond to these changes. The report reveals that the majority of shoppers (61%) ranked reading food labels as very important to their health and wellness concerns.
Companies need to innovate and merchandise to the households of today, which are increasingly smaller households, single parent families, and multi-cultural families. Smaller portions, resealable packaging, flavor variety and affordability are key ingredients for modern meal solutions (News Release Acosta, 26 February 2015).
