New project ‘Cobots in Logistics’

28 January 2015

In the future, an increasing number of employees will do their job next to a ‘cobot’, or collaborative robot. These robots can learn simple tasks and be quickly brought in at limited costs. In the logistics sector, these robots and their possible applications largely remain uninvestigated.
What is the state of the art? What are their possible uses in logistics? How can they be used and simulated in practice? In the project ‘Cobots in Logistics’, the Flanders Institute for Logistics (VIL) will formulate answers to these questions. In collaboration with Sirris, one of the 10 participating companies, the cobot will be tested live in several pilot studies (Press Release VIL, 13 January 2015).
