E-groceries in Europe

27 August 2015

The global online channel is forecasted to grow to more than 80 billion euros by 2018. Syndy published a new study on the growth of e-groceries in the most advanced markets in Europe: the Netherlands, Germany, The United Kingdom and France.
Results showed that last year a (respective) growth of 55%, 38%, 26%, and 25% were realised. In these countries, 16% of consumers bought groceries online. This increase of online grocery shoppers highlights the need for thought on delivery strategies. In the Netherlands alone, there was a 680% increase of pick up points. Next to delivery types, many other trends in e-groceries and the future thereof are discussed (Ecommerce News, 9 July 2015).
