Environmental conditions causing change of colour on the packaging of products

10 January 2014

During distribution it is unavoidable that products are exposed to harmful environmental effects but the intensity of these effects may be different. Applying the time-consuming and expensive product analyzing methods can be avoided if the quality of the product can be estimated by examining the quality of its packaging.
Researchers at the Széchenyi István University in Hungary studied whether those products can be selected in which quality deterioration processes might have started due to external environmental effects via the examination of the colour change of the packaging material. An article about the research is published in Acta Technica Jaurinensis Series Logistica.
