NL: Smart Industry to bring SME 100,000 new jobs

04 May 2015

The further advances of digitalisation and new technology will determine the economic development and employment in the Netherlands in the coming ten years. The combination of the internet with new technology – 3D-printing, the Internet of Things, Big Data and robot technology – will lead to a new innovative industry in the Netherlands: Smart Industry. This smart industry will create many new jobs in SMEs.
This is one of the conclusions of the authors Ineke Dezentjé Hamming-Bluemink (chairwoman FME and chairwoman Team Smart Industry) and economist Willem Vermeend (internet entrepreneur) in their webbook ‘Smart Industry, Eat or be (B)eaten’ (Press Release FME, 31 March 2015).
