NL: Robot society - relationship technology and employment

30 June 2015

The Rathenau Instituut has written a report for the Dutch House of Representatives about the robot society. The report gives scientific views and insights on the relationship between technology and employment.
The report shows that information technology contributes to the growth of work productivity. It also enables internationalisation and flexibility of work. The consensus among economists that innovation does not lead to a loss of jobs is no longer as strong as it was before 2010. The influence of information technology differs depending on the sort of job. Especially, jobs at an intermediate vocational education level are under pressure (News Item Rathenau Instituut, 17 June 2015).
