26 June 2015

On June 15 2015 state secretary Mansveld and state secretary Dijksma sent the Dutch House of Representatives (Tweede Kamer) the results of the Monitor sustainable wood 2013.
The monitor shows that the market share of sustainably produced wood has increased. In 2005 the market share was 13.3%, in 2008 33.5%, in 2011 65.7% and in 2013 the market share reached 74%. For the definition of sustainably produced wood Probos used wood with a sustainability certification as accepted in the governmental purchasing policy in 2013: Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), with the exception of the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (MTCS).
