NL: Plastic and chemical industry sign agreement on closing the plastic cycle

17 December 2013

On 12 November 2013 the Dutch Top Sector Chemistry and the associations VNCI, NRK and PlasticsEurope signed an agreement on closing the plastic cycle. Reuse and smart use of materials are high on the priority list of the sector. The Top Sector Chemistry aims to be part of the top five smart materials and belong to the world top for green chemistry in 2030. Signing this agreement is in line with this strategy.
With this agreement the partners aim to make the sector more sustainable in three main areas: waste, research and education and marine litter. Many different parties are involved in the agreement. The plastic cycle will be realised in 2015 (Press Release NRK, 12 November 2013).
