NL: Final minutes House debate raw materials and waste

18 December 2014

On 16 October 2014 the Dutch House (Tweede Kamer) Committee on Infrastructure and Environment held a debate. On 4 December the final minutes were published. One of the subjects was the deposit on large PET bottles. Some of the members stated their concerns about the independence of the Dutch Knowledge Institute on Sustainable Packaging (KIDV). They wonder whether the KIDV is the right party to supervise research into the environmental effects of the Packaging Agreement, including the possible abolishment of this deposit.
On the reduction of plastic bags, Secretary of Infrastructure and Environment Mansveld stated that she is exploring the possibility of legal regulations.
