NL: Compliance check required documentation for packaging

01 September 2015

In 2013 a benchmark study was done to check for the presence of the proper documentation. In this study it became clear that the compliance level was very diverse, but also that the small food producers in particular were lagging behind. Nearly 80% of the large food companies and only 35% of the small producers had the required declarations. The current project of the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) is a continuation of this benchmark study. It shows that the large food producers are the best compliers. This also counts to a slightly lesser extent for the large importers. The small producers and importers are lagging behind (Newsletter Waar&Wet, 7 July 2015).
