NL: Record number of acquisitions in the packaging industry

28 September 2015

According to a new market report by Boer & Croon Corporate Finance, merger and acquisition activity in the Dutch packaging industry is on the up. According to their estimations the number of acquisition deals will reach 17 in 2015, 6 more than last year and 4 more than record year 2010. One of the reasons for this increase is internationalisation.
Before the crisis 8 company acquisitions took place in 2005, 11 in 2006 and 12 in 2007. After the crisis the number decreased to 7 in 2008 and 3 in 2009. In 2010 and 2011 the M&A market revived pushed by mainly defensive deals and 2012 also shows a rise in the number of acquisitions (News Item Consultancy.nl, 8 September 2015).
