NL: voting on number of motions concerning packaging in House of Representatives

17 December 2013

On 3 December 2013 a number of motions concerning raw materials and waste were put to vote in the Dutch House of Representatives. One of the adopted motions concerns mapping the possibilities to enhance the quality of plastic waste, the perceived impediments and informing the House on how to make more of the opportunities before 1 May 2013.
A motion that would postpone the decision about making the deposit system no longer mandatory until the European Commission has fixed the definitions on waste processing and waste recycling and until there are enough reliable data from the Dutch monitor about the Dutch plastic recycling has been rejected.
