Impact of plain tobacco packaging on small retailers in Australia

Under the Australian Government’s Tobacco Plain Packaging Act 2011, the packaging and labelling of tobacco in Australia has become standardised to specific plain packaging regulations.
The purpose of research by Roy Morgan Research was to determine the level of operational impact felt by small retailers. The overall finding was that the introduction of plain packaging has had a negative impact on numerous facets of small retailers’ customer interaction.
