FR: More info about use of mandatory recycling mark Triman

29 April 2015

NVC has had questions about which packaging must display the recycling mark Triman. According to French Plastic and Flexible Packaging Association ELIPSO the packaging must be part of an EPR scheme and the national sorting rules must apply. These rules apply to aluminium, steel, paper/board, carton, glass (exempted from displaying the Triman) and plastic bottles, flasks and jerry cans.
For complex packaging, the weight of one material must exceed 50% to include it into one of the categories. A complex film, 51% aluminium and 49% plastic, is aluminium packaging according to the Triman regulation and has to comply with it. A complex film, 51% plastic and 49% aluminium does not need to comply.
