European e-commerce growth 2014

According to the European B2C E-commerce Report 2015 published by Ecommerce Europe European B2C e-commerce sales increased by more than 14% in 2014, reaching €423,8 bn, resulting in a turnover of over €368 bn. This sales growth is forecasted to continue through 2015, estimated to reach €477 bn, with the UK, Germany and France contributing as leading e-commerce markets and Russia showing the largest growth.
E-commerce is becoming increasingly important for the European economy, as the eGDP nearly doubled to 2,45% in 2014, forecasted to reach 6% by 2020. This increase in eGPD resulted in 4,0 billion parcels being sent throughout Europe (Press Release Ecommerce Europe, 17 June 2015).
