European Commission urged to act on French BPA ban

04 March 2015

FoodQualityNews.com writes that the British Coatings Federation (BCF) has joined calls for the European Commission to challenge the French ban on Bisphenol A (BPA) following the European Food Safety Authority’s (EFSA’s) backing of the chemical. In her letter to the Dutch House of Representatives the State secretary of Infrastructure and Environment Wilma Mansveld mentions that the European Commission informed her they are still in dialogue with the French government and are keeping all the options open, including the possibility of opening an infringement procedure if the concerns of the Commission are not taken care of. Both actions urge the Commission to act on the French BPA ban.
