Australia: New recycling label launched

27 August 2015

A new recycling label has been launched in Australia. The new label is a joint effort between GreenChip, a company focused on packaging recycling, food waste prevention and related issues, and Planet Ark, a non-profit organization. It has been created in conjunction with brand owners who believe in the need for such a label to help their customers recycle packaging.
According to GreenChip, the Australian Recycling Label, which has been under development since 2010, indicates whether a packaging should be placed in a yellow recycling bin or a red trash bin. Information on a third option called Check Locally will be unveiled later this year (Recycling Laws Update Bulletin, 12 August 2015).
