Robotics Launchpad to bring flexible robotics to industry more quickly
Flanders Make has launched its Robotics Launchpad: a new programme that provides step-by-step guidance to companies on introducing robotics technology into the workplace. The next major step does not lie in robots repeating the same movement millions of times, but in applications where tasks, products and circumstances are constantly changing. It is precisely in this high-mix, low-volume production that automation often remains difficult or not yet economically viable.
Robot navigation research wins top honours in international competitions
A KAIST robot that can follow a single verbal instruction, navigate an unfamiliar building, and verify that it has reached the correct destination has earned top honours in two international competitions. The technology used enables robots to interpret their surroundings and independently verify whether they have made the right decision.
