Wednesday July 10th, 2019 focuses on the skills and knowledge needed for the packaging-related workforce in food, non-food, design, e-commerce and the manufacturing of packaging materials. This is elaborated intensively in the 5th international annual FBEP Conference on HRM and Skills Development in Packaging. Towards the end of packaging as an environmental issue worldwide

Thursday July 11th, 2019 addresses the uniquely inspiring cross-industrial PUMA project that aims to make an end to packaging as an environmental issue worldwide by the next decade. The Workshop Packaging and Evironment across the Atlantic shares the global status quo in packaging but also features a memorable 'flash-back' to the 1972 Limits to Growth report to the Club of Rome by Donella Meadows, Dennis Meadows et.al. from MIT Boston. The film made in 1972, showing the basic research and the conclusions of the report, has been digitised this year and will be shown at the Boston event as a tribute to Donella Meadows and her co-scientists. The workshop aims to draw lessons from the film as a source of inspiration for the decades to come. Thought-leaders in packaging will share their views and the the key-issues to be solved will be debated in dedicated round table discussions for all participants to join.
