NL: Results recycling packaging in 2014 published

29 October 2015

The Dutch Packaging Waste Fund (Afvalfonds Verpakkingen) has released a report on 2014 packaging recycling in the Netherlands. The rate for all packaging combined was 69%, 1% short of the 2014 target but well ahead of the 55% EU target.
The report says 2014 targets for plastic and metal were exceeded, but targets for glass and wood were not met. Glass container recycling at 79% fell far short of the 90% target. Wood recycling at 25% fell short of the 29% target. Plastic container recycling increased over the past seven consecutive years. In 2014, 129 kilotons of plastic packaging was recycled in the Netherlands (Recycling Laws International, 26 October 2015).
