NL: In 2016 one-way logistic aids must be registered

27 October 2015

In the Netherlands logistic aids are exempted from the contribution to the Packaging Waste Fund (Afvalfonds Verpakkingen). Up until now companies did not need to include logistic aids in their packaging register. However this is about to change.
As of 2016 companies that place packaged products on the Dutch market have to start registering their one-way logistic aids so that they can include them in their declaration in 2017. The aim is to improve the monitoring of the collection and recycling of this kind of packaging. No contribution has to be paid for these logistic aids and the declared kilograms do not count for the threshold of 50,000 kg. Nothing changes for returnable logistic aids.
