How to prepare a Downstream User Chemical Safety Report

28 September 2015

A new guide on how to prepare a downstream user chemical safety report has been published by the European Chemicals Agency. If a downstream user’s use of a substance is not covered by the supplier’s exposure scenarios, the user has an option to prepare a downstream user chemical safety report. This guide gives advice and examples on how to prepare one. The practical guide complements the Guidance on Downstream Users (section 5). It was developed as part of the Chemical Safety Report/Exposure Scenario Roadmap. The information in the guide builds on a survey of downstream users that was conducted to identify their needs related to chemical safety reports (Environmental Leader, 14 September 2015).
