Re-engineering the supply chain for omni-channel retail

04 March 2015

‘Re-engineering the supply chain for the omni-channel of tomorrow’ is the research report by EY, addressing the challenges that omni-channel retail is posing to the supply chain.
The supply chain now has to reach beyond the retail store to the consumer’s home and to dedicated pick-up points. This requires real-time, channel agnostic visibility of inventory across the supply chain and a single view of the consumer hopping from one channel to another. Food and drink is forecasted to be the fastest-growing category in internet retail, with an 18% growth per year. Packaging design should be based on an omni-channel approach to ensure sufficient agility in the supply chain of the future.
