European grant for fully automatic meat slicer

10 March 2015

Two Dutch companies, Braakhuis Borne Machine- en Apparatenbouw BV and TCPM Oost BV will receive a European grant of almost 500.000 euros for their fully automatic meat slicer: The Quality Slicer.
About 90% of the sliced meat sold in supermarkets is sliced, wrapped and given a longer shelf life in factories. With the Quality Slicer, transportation, slicing and cooling are combined in one machine. The costumer chooses the product, the thickness and the weight of the product while in the store. After that, the machine visibly slices and wraps the order. The first prototype is expected to be ready within a year (News Item Kennispark Twente, 18 February 2015).
