Crowdfunding as accelerator for packaging innovations

28 May 2015

Crowdfunding (CF) is funding a project or venture by raising monetary or ‘in-natura’ contributions from many people, typically via the internet. CF involves three types of actors: the project initiator who proposes the project to be funded; individuals or groups who support the idea; and a moderating platform business that brings the parties together to launch the idea.
NVC is addressing CF as it may unlock a considerable potential of packaging innovations in the €100 billion per year global packaging market. Below is information on the Crowdfunding Day 2015, a European study analysing the CF industry as well as a unique event in Amsterdam on October 1st, focusing on CF and packaging.
