CLH consultation on paper and pulp chemical anthraquinone

23 February 2015

ECHA has launched a 45-day public commenting period on the harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) proposal anthraquinone submitted by Germany. This substance is mainly used in the paper/pulp industry and as an intermediate for synthesising other chemicals. There is currently no harmonised classification for anthraquinone and the dossier submitter is proposing classification for carcinogenicity.
Parties concerned are invited to comment on hazard classes open for public consultation. The indicated hazard classes were assessed and concluded by the dossier submitter in their proposal. The final date for submitting comments is 7 April 2015 (ECHA e-News, 18 February 2015).
