NVC probes into future of 3D printing and packaging

06 November 2014

3D printing makes it possible to manufacture products right on the spot. According to a TNO study, the technology is being regarded as the third industrial revolution and is steadily making its mark. Within a few years a billion-euro market has emerged, one that is growing exponentially and is expected to be valued at five to ten billion euros in five or so years’ time.
Which influence will this technology have on the packaging of products, the prototyping of packages and the development of transport packaging in logistics? These and other questions regarding the future will be discussed during the 61st General Meeting of Members (GMM) of NVC Netherlands Packaging Centre on Thursday afternoon 27th of November at the amazing Museum Of The Image (MOTI) in Breda, the Netherlands.

The Members-only part of the meeting starts at 14.00 hrs and is only accessible for NVC members. The Open Meeting starts at 16.00 hrs and is focusing on Imagination in Packaging. Every participant can have himself scanned and will receive a free 3D printed statue (‘mini-me’) of him/herself to take home.
In the evening, an exclusive museum tour is organised, followed by a unique Walking Dinner in the MOTI exhibition areas.

How to participate?
To join the GMM, go to the NVC website and register before November 20th, 2014.
