NVC Course Food Packaging (Class room and company visit)

The course

After completing this course you will be able to understand the important aspects of the packaging of food products. During the course our tutors will cover such topics as: packaging functionalities, packaging materials, packaging rules and regulations and interaction between packaging and product.

With the help of this knowledge, you will be able to choose the right packaging for your food products.

This three-day course will take place at the NVC Netherlands Packaging Centre in Gouda, the Netherlands and at a food products producer. The primary course language is Dutch, however depending on the demand the course may be offered in English as well. Please contact Oscar Faber for this.

The three-day course is the choice for employees with knowledge and experience in food industry, who will carry a shared responsibility for production and development of food products in relation to the applied package(s).

Previous participants include packaging and product developers, quality controllers, product and account managers in the food industry.

Day 1:

  • Packaging functionalities
  • Product vulnerabilities
  • Food packaging materials (paper and board, glass, metal and plastic)
  • Essential requirements

Day 2:

  • Packaging rules and regulations: Food and Drugs Act and labelling
  • Claims
  • Certification: ISO, HACCP, BRC
  • Food contact materials regulations
  • Migration

Day 3:

  • Product-packaging combinations
  • Company visit to a producer of food products.

Certificate

After completing this course with adequate participation effort, you will receive the NVC certificate ‘NVC Course Food Packaging’.

Date-Time

The next course starts on 28 November 2017.

The duration of the course is 3 weeks; one study day per week from 09:30 AM to 04:00 PM (Paris Time Scale).

Costs
