Next Generation Food Can

After a decade of development Ardagh and Bonduelle have introduced a new can for the food industry. By applying nitrogen dosing in a consistent and controlled way, and a new look and feel of the trusted food can, Ardagh has managed to reduce the wall thickness of the food cans by 43%. This results in a total of 15% material savings.

This innovative packaging is very attractive to the consumer and offers considerable advantages to the environment. The development means important progress in the production of metal packaging and the corresponding processing technology. It is a huge step in material saving that is launched in the Netherlands: the food can with the world's thinnest walls.
