The course

After completing this course, you will have a clear understanding of the possibilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in packaging. You will learn how AI can be used to analyse packaging materials, comply with packaging legislation and regulations, and make creative packaging designs.

With this knowledge and insight, you will develop the specific skills you need to apply AI effectively to your packaging decisions. You will also work on a packaging case study and receive feedback on your work.

The course language is business English, the tutors are bi-lingual (English and Dutch) and the course is globally accessible; you can participate from any place you wish (without any travel costs). All you need to attend the sessions are a computer, headset, adequate internet connection and the possibility/permission to connect to the system we use for our online learning modules.
The course is provided by a live tutors, located in the NVC studio. Your live tutor will answer all your questions during the sessions or afterwards.

This course is intended for anyone working in the field of packaging who is interested in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI). The course offers valuable insights for anyone who wants to understand how AI can support your decision-making in packaging.

Programme

The course consists of:

1. Four sessions provided by live NVC-tutor on four separate days
2. Preparation, individual assignments and summary with feedback via the NVC online learning environment

Training session 1:

• What is artificial intelligence (AI), how does generative AI work, and what role can it play in the packaging sector?
• Introduction prompt engineering
• Introduction of the individual cases.

Training session 2:

• Privacy and ethics: fundamentals of data protection legislation
• How can AI support you in analysing, interpreting, and complying with packaging-related legislation and regulations?

Training session 3:

• Exploring the use of new materials, optimising production processes and generating creative packaging designs using AI tools.

Training session 4:

• Summary, future and feedback on the individual cases. Which AI challenges do you face and how can AI contribute specifically to further improving packaging?

After completing this course and when participated adequately you will receive the NVC-certificate ‘NVC Course AI in Packaging’.
