NVC Topical meeting Understanding and using LCA cost effectively
An NVC Topical meeting offers the opportunity to explore a packaging subject under the guidance of an expert in just one afternoon. The topical meetings take place from 1:30 PM to 4 PM in the Auditorium of the NVC Netherlands Packaging Centre in Gouda. At 1:00 PM there will be a snack lunch available for the participants. During the lunch, break and afterwards you have the opportunity to meet and interact with the other participants of the topical meeting.
Life Cycle Analysis – LCA – is a widely accepted method for determining the environmental footprint of a product or package. Still, it is a challenge to understand exactly how it works and in what ways it can best be used. During this NVC Topical Lecture Graham Houlder will explain the basics of LCA and will demonstrate with the help of case studies and easy to use software how to use LCA to make your packaging more sustainable and to add value to your business. The likely impact of the the European Commission led Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) will also be discussed.
The topical lecture ends with a plenary discussion enabling full interaction both with the speaker and with other participants. Graham Houlder, Founder and Managing Director of SLOOP Consulting B.V., has aqcuired his knowledge and experience over the last 2 decades; primarily through a 'hands on' approach whilst working for a major global multinational food, home and personal care company. This company is widely recognised by industry for both it’s thought leadership on Sustainability and, more importantly, putting this thinking into action.
