NVC Packaging Centre was founded on 28 April 1953. The upcoming General Meeting of Members (GMM) on Thursday, 26 November 2026, we therefore will be celebrating our 73rd anniversary. The GMM consists of two consecutive meetings: the Statutory Meeting and the Thematic Meeting.

The Thematic Meeting (3-5.30 PM CET)
How do you survive as a packaged goods company and as a packaging (machinery) supplier in a market where scale and specialisation are essential? A market in which compliance costs (PPWR and more) are rising rapidly? A market in which energy costs are rising and skilled staff are also becoming scarce? The thematic meeting focuses on the two areas of innovation where the battle will be fought in 2027.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN PACKAGING: HOW TO IMPLEMENT SUCCESSFULLY IN BUSINESS?

From ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Claude (Anthropic) right through to NVC’s in-house AI packaging assistant AYDA: there’s going to be a whirlwind of activity in the coming year, 2027. We’ll begin with a unique keynote lecture by Prof. Dr Jesse Weltevreden (see photo). Using RankmyAI, he tracks and analyses over 63,000 AI applications worldwide. We’ll then hold a panel discussion to share the business experiences of NVC member companies in applying AI within their corporate environments. Finally, participants will be introduced to the NVC development team behind AYDA (generic packaging) and DAYO (pharmaceutical packaging). There will also be an opportunity to ask AYDA questions in real time.

PACKAGING MATERIALS: WHO WILL SURVIVE?

Which innovations in packaging materials and packaging design will prove successful? And which will ultimately fail to survive the introduction of the PPWR? We will debate this together, drawing inspiration from the 33rd edition of the ‘De Gouden Noot’ packaging innovation contest. The ten packaging designs that have reached the final will be on display. How did the finalists go about creating them? Naturally, there will be ample opportunity to make joint plans for a successful 2027.
