Coding of packaging and packaged products for effective tracking after the POS transaction

Interactive workshop NVC-GS1 Thinktank Coding and Identification of Packaging
Thursday 29 June 2023
12 PM - 5 PM CEST
Live Hybrid from the Best Western Plus Hotel (Gouda)

The responsible collection and further processing of emptied packs and end-of-life products is becoming increasingly important. Current supply chains tend to focus on the moment of sale to the end user: the 'Point-of-Sale (POS) transaction'. In the future, retailers, suppliers and 'recyclers' will also need to understand what is going on after the POS transaction. Not only will legislators enforce this, but consumers are also demanding transparency.

The NVC-GS1 Thinktank Coding and Identification of Packaging is working on setting up the coding and identification methods that will allow products and their packs to be tracked throughout their lifecycle even after the POS moment. Source of inspiration is the PUMA MANIFESTO, through which the packaging community is working towards the end of packaging as an environmental issue.
